Yes, you may FAX or email a scanned copy of a design request and we can provide a quote. However, it is better if we have a design consultant visit your home and check the design and measurements and offer advice which will be helpful to insure all aspects of the storage system are considered. This visit is without cost or obligation.
Do you have financing available?
Financing is not available directly from Closet Tec.
May I purchase using a credit card?
We accept major credit cards, including Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. You may also pay with a personal check or cash. Payment terms are ½ at signing and ½ at the completion of the installation.
How long after agreeing to a solution do I have to wait for the installation?
The average time is 4 weeks. Closet Tec strives to deliver an installation within 7-10 days from the signing of your contract. If you need it sooner, we will do our best to install it sooner, assuming no unique material requirements. Home offices, wall beds and media centers usually require the full 4 weeks from contract signing to installation due to their complexity.
Do you attach the unit to the wall?
No, we do not hang our closet solutions from the wall. For stability and durability all Closet Tec systems are free-standing floor units. The free-standing floor units are secured to the wall to prevent any danger of falling.
How long will it take to install my system?
The average closet system is installed between ½ and full day. Larger projects may take longer. When the installation is complete the unit and work area will be clean and ready for immediate usage. All installations are conducted by Closet Tec personnel who are trained in the installation of Closet Tec’s products.
What kind of wood do you use?
Because we custom build, we can use any wood type. We prefer a board material that is stable and maintains its dimensions without warp or crack. We use only US manufactured industrial grade particleboard as a substrate with melamine or wood veneer. Our raised panel door and drawer fronts are thermo-foiled MDF (medium density fiberboard) substrate to prevent warping and panel separation. We do offer wood solutions that can be custom stained to match your unique requirements.
Why do you use particleboard for you structure?
Closet Tec offers particleboard because it is a solid substrate that is dimensionally stable, does not warp, crack or peel and is less expensive than wood based solutions. The surface is melamine and is offered in both solid color and a variety of wood grains. The finished product is easy to maintain and structurally stable.
Do you put backing on your system?
Backing is not a requirement in our closet systems because our units are secured to the wall. However, it can be used for aesthetic purposes to can hide imperfections in the wall. Non-closet system, like home offices or media centers normally use backing to provide structural stability.
Why do you use custom rods and support brackets?
Closet Tec uses custom rods and support brackets for several reasons including:
- Increased rod stability.
- The custom inset design allows ease of hanger movement regardless of the hanger style.
- Easy removal and relocation without the need for tools.
How can I determine if my drawers are custom made?
Drawers come in a variety of widths, depths and lengths and all are custom made to solve your storage needs. We actually form each drawer manually and apply both compress driven nail brads and glue to insure the structure and stability of your drawer will last as long as you own the system. File drawers, for example, come completely ready to accept Pendi-Flex hanging folders in either legal or letter sizes.
Why do you use raised door and drawer fronts?
Closet Tec offers raised panel door and drawer fronts as an alternative to higher cost solid wood based solutions. Available in a multitude of styles and colors, raised panel doors and drawer fronts provide an appealing “furniture look” that compliments your overall home decor.
Why do you use European hardware and fittings?
We only use the finest available hardware in our custom solutions. European hardware offers excellent aesthetics, are built to last for the life and provide extremely smooth operation for drawer and door movement.
