We had the pleasure of interviewing Destiny after she received the award to learn more about her passion for art, education, and her future career. Her insightful answers can be found below!

How did you feel when you won the Closet Tec scholarship?

I felt extremely relieved and happy when I won the award, it’s helping me pay for my dream college.

What do you love about art and design?

What I love about art is that art is communication, and you can visually express yourself and your opinions through your art.

How do you think art impacts communities?

Art can positively effect the community by bringing us all together and uniting us all.

What are some of your goals and aspirations when it comes to your college education?

When it comes to my goals and aspirations in my college, I would love to illustrate a story in the ringling comic book, intern at a business that allows me to experience my major in the field. I also can’t wait to study abroad in Italy my junior year to learn the history of art and techniques that were used.

Do you have a dream career goal your comfortable sharing? What is it?

Honestly, my dream career is any career where I am doing what I love and that is art. Whether I’m illustrating concept art for a video game or working at Disney, as long as I’m pursuing art I’ll be happy.

Congratulations to Destiny for winning this scholarship, and thank you to all of the other 2018 high school graduates that applied!
